This Tiger Time group had some fun in the sun working on compound words ☀️

Reminder to all families that this Friday, October 11, marks the end of our first grading period. With that comes a two-hour early dismissal of students. This time allows our teachers to have some valuable work time to wrap up the quarter.
You are all invited back at 7:00 to Unckrich Stadium in Heise Park to cheer on our Tigers as they take on Pleasant Spartans and see our Homecoming King & Queen announcement. See you at the game! Go Tigers!

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month and today October 8th is International Dyslexia Day.
In keeping in line with Ohio law, Galion teachers have been receiving specialized training to better support students with dyslexia. This is a crucial step in ensuring every child gets the help they need to succeed.
There are many myths surrounding dyslexia, like the idea that it’s tied to vision problems and reversing letters. In reality, dyslexia is a common learning difference that affects the way the brain processes language. Throughout the remainder of the month, we will share more information about dyslexia to help increase awareness and help separate myths from facts.

Regular daily attendance is key to unlocking a world of opportunities for our students! Here are just a few reasons why showing up matters:
Academic Achievement: Consistent attendance helps improve grades and understanding of the material. Every lesson builds on the last, and being present means students won’t miss out!
Healthy Routines: Developing a routine fosters discipline and time management skills. These habits not only benefit students academically but also contribute to their overall well-being.
Building Relationships: Being in school helps children connect with their peers and teachers. These relationships and mentorships can last a lifetime. Positive relationships are essential for emotional and social development.
We’re proud of our students and families for prioritizing attendance! Let’s continue to work together to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Remember, every day counts!
