Calling all substitute teachers!
As of July 1, 2024, Galion City Schools will be managing our substitute teacher pool internally. We are inviting all qualified substitute teachers to work directly with us for the 2024-2025 school year.
We would be thrilled to have you work with our students as part of the Galion team.
What you need to know about becoming a substitute teacher at Galion:
· All substitute teachers must have a current BCI and FBI background check on file in our office. We will accept paper copies of your current background check. If you are unable to obtain a copy of your current background checks, you will need to have new background checks completed.
· All substitute teachers must provide a valid substitute teaching license from ODE
Once these items have been received in our office, you may pick up a payroll packet and then be added into our Frontline system to accept open positions, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.

Galion students of all ages represented our district well at the MOESC Artapalooza 2024. This year over 3,000 pieces of art were on display from 20 area schools. Congratulations to all students whose pieces were on display and to our award winners.

If you missed Artapalooza this year, you still have an opportunity to see some great work from our high school students . On Sunday, May 5th, Galion High School will open at 3:30 P.M. for spectators to come and enjoy the high school art show. Concessions will be available with proceeds benefiting the freshman class and their future events. The high school art awards will begin at 4:00 P.M. and the show will remain open until 7:00 P.M.
Good afternoon we do apologize for the inconvenience however in effort to keep our students safe, based on impending weather conditions we will dismiss one hour early today. Morning preschool will dismiss as normal. There will be no afternoon preschool or any afternoon activities.
Again, we have our student best interest in mind as we make this decision. Be safe and we will see everyone back on campus tomorrow.

Those who require transportation should update and sign the Contact form and Transportation form by May 1st to secure transportation needs are met. We now offer bus transportation to include high school students who live 1.5 miles or more from the school. We also want to remind everyone that our campus will be closed on April 8th in observance of the solar eclipse. Please read the attached letter to families regarding the safety precautions for viewing the eclipse. All students will be given a pair of glasses that have been approved for safe viewing courtesy of the Bucyrus Rotary Club.
