Galion Middle School and Galion Intermediate School received the Purple Star Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce - an award for supporting our military families. Many hands helped achieve this recognition, including Leigh Ann Patterson and Jon Stinehour, who spearheaded this initiative at the Intermediate and Middle Schools. We're honored to serve those who serve!
Reminder to all! Tuesday and Wednesday this week will begin our state testing. Be sure to arrive on time and come with iPads fully charged. If you need a charger, contact your school office or technology department.
Don't forget it's never too late to complete a Free/Reduced Meal application! Qualified students may be eligible for Summer EBT $$.
It’s time for the Galion Fiscal Focus! Did you know that our district receives 23.5% of our yearly revenue from local real estate taxes and over 70% from other State sources?
According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, property tax, a tax on Real Property, is one of the oldest taxes in Ohio. These tax rates are complicated calculations based on local tax levies and various taxing jurisdictions. Revenue collected by property taxes is distributed to the counties, municipalities, townships, school districts and various special districts according to the taxable values and total millage levied by each.
