All students are encouraged to show their TIGER PRIDE by wearing orange and blue. Students may bring signs, streamers, confetti, or other things that show their school spirit! The pregame tailgate starts at 5 p.m. in the park! We hope to see you there!


As we return to pre-COVID meal practices, families will need to complete Free/Reduced Price Meal Applications! We encourage ALL Tiger families to complete the application using PaySchools Central or printing and delivering a paper application. If you choose the printable version, it must be returned or mailed to the Food Services Director Shannon King at Galion High School.

The September 9 football game will honor our Veterans and those currently serving. Veterans and active duty military (and one guest) are invited to attend the varsity football game for free this Friday as a small thank you for serving our country. Those interested are also invited to meet at the flag pole at the South end of the stadium at 6:30 p.m. to help honor our great flag.
Additionally, Galion fans, don’t forget to wear your t-shirts in honor of senior Kooper McCabe (#6).


Calling all seniors! Galion City School residents, who are 62 and older, can pick up a free senior game pass at the Board of Education office. This pass allows free entry to sporting events throughout the 2022-2023 school year. We look forward to seeing you at the games! Go Tigers!


The PTO has framed the yearly student art pictures for each grade level from the 2021-22 school year. These works of art are are now hanging in the hallways of the Primary and Intermediate buildings along with the art from previous years.
Congratulations to the following students for having their art work chosen: KG Macie Wolfersberger, 1st Cooper Main, 2nd Quinn Bailey, 3rd Jocelyn Glass, 4th Jaquelyn Young, 5th Addison Parsons. We are looking forward to another great year of Art projects this year.


GIS fifth graders received a visit from some of the members of the HS band as a first introduction to the instrumental world! The band did a fantastic job and our GIS students loved hearing the Galion fight song!
Fifth-grade students and their families are invited to learn more about the band and preview the instruments tonight, Thursday, September 1, from 6-8 p.m. in the GIS cafeteria. Please stop by to check out the instruments and talk more to Mr. Warkall about the band for this year.

The Ohio Department of Health {ODH), under Ohio Revised Code 3701.13 and 3313.671, requires: 7th-grade students to provide written proof of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis) and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccines; and, 12th-grade students to provide written proof that they have received the Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine after the age of 16. A complete list of ODH immunization requirements is available on their website. Students without written proof of vaccine/appointment by August 29th will be excluded at that time.
